Board Game Money Origami

Board Game Money Origami

I went home to my parents’ house for the holidays and took the time to raid our attic for old board game money. I found bills from Mall Madness, the Game of Life, and Payday, in addition to my Monopoly dollars. I played around with them for a bit and made some new Mette rings!

The top ring is from Payday. I have to say, this one is my new favorite. It took awhile experimenting with how and where to trim the bills, but the result was this awesome organic pattern. It reminds me of branches and makes this great flower shape.

The second ring is from the Game of Life. And of course, the final one is a Monopoly ring. Try as I might, I couldn’t get the Mall Madness rings to look right. They are very similar to regular dollar bills but in bright colors (and with “Mall Madness” printed on them). I just couldn’t trim the bills in such a way to make the rings look interesting. I am determined to make something of them, however.

I’m so addicted to this. I can’t wait to scour thrift stores for more board games to dismantle.
