Needlepoint Magazine Holder

posted in: Embroidery | 4

I have a collection of small zines and wanted to create a special holder for them. I originally was going to purchase a pre-made magazine holder and decorate it, but then I stumbled upon the book Stitch Sampler at Downtown Menlo Park’s needlepoint store Old World Designs. It inspired me to buy some yarn and plastic canvas and create my own.

The finished product doesn’t have as much structural integrity as I had hoped – it’s floppy, which is expected from flexible plastic canvas, but with a sturdy liner it would work great.

Hi Christina — thanks for your message! I’m afraid I don’t have a pattern for this. I was making it up as I went along. But I found all the different stitches in the book: “Stitch Sampler” by Lucinda Ganderton. Hopefully that will help get you started! — Ally

If you double the canvas on all sides it will be a little more sturdier

Thanks for the tip! I’ll remember that for my next needlepoint.
